CWA Labor to Labor Walks Begin

Early Saturday morning, September 13, 2008, CWA members from Local 1106 and other surrounding Locals met up to support the candidacy of New York City Councilman Joseph Addabbo,Jr. who is running for the New York Senate in District 15.  

 

After a short briefing and some coffee and donuts, the members spread out across some Queens' neighborhoods to knock on doors and talk to fellow union workers about the importance of Joe Addabbo’s race for the Senate.

 

“This is the guy to vote for, he’s here for us,” said CWA District 1 Vice President Chris Shelton. Chris reminded the members that Addabbo has been a constant friend of labor who has fought against outsourcing and joined the in the call for paid family leave, better health care for all and increased aid to education.

“Joe Addabbo will shake up
Albany and deliver for working people,” said Bob master, Political Director for CWA District One “It’s time for a change; it’s time for Joe Addabbo.”

Tony Caudullo, President of CWA Local 1106 noted that there are more than 1,200 CWA members in New York Senate District 15, which includes the Queens communities of Howard Beach, Ridgewood, Richmond Hill, Ozone Park, South Ozone Park, Maspeth, Glendale, parts of Elmhurst and Sunnyside.
