CWA District 1 Announces Endorsements for NYC Public Advocate, NYC Comptroller and New York City Council

Communications Workers of America, District 1 is proud to endorse Letitia James for NYC Public Advocate and Scott Stringer for NYC Comptroller.

Tish James and Scott Stringer have been with us since day one. They have been forceful allies for working people in our city and we are proud to endorse them. They both stood with us in the fight against Verizon’s corporate greed and have stood up to Wall Street on behalf of all New Yorkers. They are the progressive champions we need to lead this city,” said Dennis Trainor, Vice President of the Communications Workers of America, District 1.

"Four years ago, I set out to distinguish the Public Advocate's Office as a vehicle for economic and social justice for everyday New Yorkers,” said Public Advocate Letitia James. “I am honored to have the support of CWA as an important validation of our efforts to fight for workers' rights, economic fairness, and equality for all. Together, we can ensure that New York's working families share in the progress of our City."

NYC City Council Elections

Communications Workers of America, District 1 looks forward to continuing to work with our pro-labor allies in the City Council and is excited to endorse a group of up and coming progressive newcomers:

“This year we are pleased to support a large group of City Council incumbents who have been fighting for working people over the last four years in New York City. We are also excited about the opportunity to elect a new group of pro-worker candidates who will strengthen the Council’s progressive bloc. We need elected officials who are committed to fight for good jobs, take on Wall Street and stand with public sector workers,” said Dennis Trainor, Vice President of  the Communications Workers of America, District 1.

“It is an honor to know that the men and women of the Communications Workers of America have placed their trust in me to represent them in City Council,” said Council Candidate Diana Ayala,” I’ve seen their commitment to working people and to enacting real meaningful change.
