AT&T Connecticut Bargaining Report #3

The Union and the Company met today and the company made several retrogressive proposals related to healthcare and Article VII. In addition, they passed a proposal to eliminate the commitment of employment security. The Union stressed how shameful it is that AT&T would propose these changes after forcing many of these employees to continue their employment with AT&T when they could have had gainful employment and a Guaranteed Job Offer had they been allowed to transition at the time of the Frontier acquisition.

The CWA Local 1298 Bargaining Committee met with AT&T Labor Relations today and based on information previously shared by the AT&T committee, fully expected to dive into the issues that are important to bringing in an agreement in a timely manner. Working together to reach a timely agreement is an issue that the company highlighted during their opening statements. Instead, the company presented the union with contract clean up that was insignificant to the heart of why we are at the bargaining table.

On May 1, AT&T Mobility implemented a new attendance policy for their retail stores which punishes workers for getting sick. If a worker is out sick more than 8 days a year, they are fired.
